RALEIGH, N.C. -- Several businesses in Raleigh have been fined for excessive price scan errors.

The state performs unannounced inspections in businesses across the state to check for price scan accuracy. If a store overcharges, inspectors talk to the store manager and follow up with another unannounced inspection.
 
Businesses are given a fine if changes are not made.
 
Local businesses that were fined include:
  • Compare Foods on New Hope Church Road
  • Rite Aid on Falls Valley Road
  • Staples on Millbrook Rd in Raleigh and on Retail Dr. in Wake Forest
  • K-mart on Western Blvd and Capital Blvd.
