Sanchez, 22, was shot April 12 at the corner of Blue Street and Washington Drive behind Sharkey’s Night Club, 944 Bragg Boulevard. Sanchez was walking to his car that night when he happened upon a robbery in progress. The suspects, four or five men, robbed and shot him with a chrome shotgun and then fled the scene.
The Fort Bragg Criminal Investigative Division announced a $7,500 reward this week for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the persons responsible for Sanchez's murder.
Police said Friday they executed a search warrant in Lee County related to the homicide. Police believe persons in that area have information regarding the suspects responsible for Sanchez’s murder.
Sanchez was a soldier stationed at Ft. Bragg and had recently returned from a tour of duty in Iraq.
Detectives are following all leads as they come in and continue to request assistance from the public, especially individuals in the Lee County area. No one has been charged in the death of SPC Sanchez.
