FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Medical supplies are missing after they fell out of a Lifeflight helicopter, official said Thursday.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the supplies, which fell as a helicopter left Cape Fear Valley Hospital Saturday at about 3:20 p.m.
The helicopter was transporting a patient to Duke Hospital when a blue medical duffel bag with pediatric supplies fell from it. Police said the duffel bag hadn’t been properly secured prior to lift off.
The helicopter was in the area of east of the All American Freeway along Raeford Road towards Robeson Street. The flight path of the helicopter hasn’t been determined yet.
Concerned citizens who saw the duffel bag fall from the helicopter called the Fayetteville Police Department but we were unable to locate it. Police are asking for residents in the area to be on the look out for the duffel bag. If the duffel bag is found, residents are asked to call 911 and a police officer will respond and pick it up.
