Saturday night the anticipation was high for the show.
"I've been waiting to see fireworks for a long, long time," said Bert Rudolph.
Saturday was the second day that he and his dad Alan came out to the fairgrounds to catch the fireworks show.
"We were out here all day yesterday from 4:00 on until 9 when it started raining, so we wanted to try to catch the fireworks," said Alan Rudolph.
The fireworks show started at 8:45, about 30 minutes early.
"They're great," exclaimed Bert Rudolph.
"I like the fireworks because it makes lots of noises," said David Hunte, 4.
For their parents, the wait was worth it.
"Just seeing my son enjoy it all," said David's mom, Nicola Hunte.
"Just watching him, the enjoyment he gets out of it, is all worth it for that," said Alan Rudolph.
Even though the fireworks were the center of attention, the reason for them was not lost.
"A special day, for our country's birthday," said Dillon Koontz.
